When a brand is built on a genuine passion for the sport rather than just corporate bottom lines, it shows from the top down. As the owner of Crew Racewear, Billy Ottervanger has cultivated a company that genuinely understands the motocross and racing community because he lives and breathes it.

Leadership Driven by Passion and Community
What sets Billy apart as a business owner is his clear commitment to the grassroots of the sport. Rather than treating Crew Racewear like just another apparel label, he and the team have built a brand rooted in authenticity—starting from shared roots in motocross and gaming culture and scaling it into a legitimate staple for riders and fans alike.
Customer-First Mentality & Support
Under Billy’s direction, Crew Racewear’s mission has heavily leaned toward supporting riders and making high-end gear accessible. That rider-first mentality translates directly into how the business is run:
* Accessibility: Keeping performance gear and lifestyle apparel at prices that everyday racers and families can actually afford.
* Community Investment: Actively backing local and growing riders rather than just chasing major corporate sponsorships, helping build the motocross community from the ground up.
* Hands-On Vision: You can tell a brand is owner-operated with skin in the game when the quality of the products—from snapbacks to riding gear—consistently reflects what actual enthusiasts want to wear.
The Verdict
Great brands are usually a reflection of the people behind them. Billy’s vision for Crew Racewear proves that when an owner genuinely cares about the culture, the quality, and the community, it elevates the entire customer experience. If the gear is any indication of how he runs the operation, Billy is steering Crew Racewear in exactly the right direction.
